I am a Bristol based multi-disciplinary visual artist who works with a range of media including textiles, sculpture, found and discarded objects, text, performance, installation and social engagement.

 

I came quite unexpectedly and late to the world of art and making, having has a long career in the health and social care sector This has had a profound influence on my creative practice, and I continue to be fascinated by how our attitudes and behaviour are influenced by our physical, social, and psychological environments.

This often involves altering found and personal objects, displacing their focus from the practical to the aesthetic, whilst asking us to consider the complexities of contemporary society and the impact that is has on us.Although textiles are my first love and solace, I am increasingly interested in social engagement and collaboration with others. By inviting others to contribute, art encourages people to explore their own responses, promotes discussion and fosters a sense of community.
